Odds

 You remember

Honeysuckle kisses in the naughty breezes.

Quite romantic,

Taking chances on your love,

But odds can wink and odds can flee.

Your money flew on the pile.

The queen was not inside your draw.

You spent the evening

Staring at the empty table,

Drinking bourbon till your words were swimming,

Tangled in the strings and strains of nectar dew.
