The rain is fickle,
Purring as an older regal cat.
The pillow rumble
Roars discreetly like air conditioning
And tapers to a silky silent
Spent humidity.

You so slight,
Rampaging through my thoughts
Like Gulliver set free
From dental floss constraints.

I stand unsteady
Where you stepped inside the mud,
Unbalanced,
Drowning in the gentle
Rising morning flood.
